Vijaya Balan Jagadeesan is currently working as an AI research assistant on the EPSRC-funded PRIME project at Heriot-Watt University. In PRIME, he is developing AI-driven tools—including Conversational AI systems and generative personas—to evaluate and improve the fairness and accessibility of online public services for minority ethnic communities.
Simultaneously, VB Jagadeesan contributes to the FEATHER project, focusing on early detection of urinary tract infections through Human-Robot Interaction. His work spans speech-based Conversational AI, predictive analytics, and multimodal health data modelling, leveraging IoT-enabled systems.
He recently completed his MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Heriot-Watt University with Distinction, where his research explored NLP-inspired computer vision models for early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases. With a background in Mechanical Engineering and professional experience in both academia and the financial sector, VB Jagadeesan’s interdisciplinary expertise drives his passion for socially impactful, AI-powered innovation.
